Thane Waterfall
Acrylic on Canvas 18″ x 24″
Thane is an area south of downtown Juneau, along the shoreline of Gastineau Channel. There is a trail from the end of the road at Thane that goes down to DuPont, a place where mine explosives for the AJ mines were unloaded. There is a beach with a southern exposure, popular in the warmer months.
Along the trail there are several waterfalls and great views of the Channel. This waterfall is near the beginning of the trail. This is from spring before all the greenery starts, with bare devil’s club stems visible on the slopes near the waterfall.
