Colleen Goldrich has been showing my paintings since this past fall, and I have so much appreciated having them shown in such a fabulous space.  With an opening to prepare for, I have been holding back several paintings that I have been working on this winter.  Now they are all varnished, wired and ready for the gallery wall.

As for a theme, I have been saying "what is done", while that is the truth, now that I look at them I can say that they are all the product of plein air field painting starts in 2013.  All Juneau.  Quite a few are fireweed inspired, but there are scenes inspired by Eaglecrest, Gold Creek, the Mendenhall River, Douglas Island, Salmon Creek, Gastineau Channel and fireweed of course.  Just in case you were not fortunate to enjoy the legendary Summer of 2013 – it was Juneau at its finest, unusually sunny, days and days of sunshine, with a few rainy respites to keep us all from dehydrating too much!  I think you will see some of that exuberance in my new paintings, maybe you will even get a little hit of vitamin D from looking at them!

I hope that you can come to Kaill's to see the new work, they will be up on their own wall for the month of March and then they will continue to be available, so please go to Kaill's whenever you want a look.

I've enlisted the help of Laura Lewis Heywood to create a cleaner web interface for my work, and we hope to launch it in a few days.  I will continue to blog, but the focus will be on the gallery aspect so the artwork is front and center!  Right now I'm varnishing and putting the hanging wires on the new work.

More soon!
