2014 was a good year for me and I look forward to some big exciting changes in 2015.
In 2014 I continued to sell my work at Annie Kaill’s here in Juneau, Colleen Goldrich, the new owner, has been so supportive and I am glad that my work has been seen and purchased by so many people! I so much appreciate that my work has found a way into your life, each piece is a journey for me, and presents its own excitement, frustrations and teaches me as much as it can. I take that knowledge and hope that I can use it in the future.
It never gets easy, and perhaps that is why I find painting to be ultimately satisfying. Even though each new idea says something special to me, when I get into the process of figuring out what to say in each part of the canvas it can be a struggle. I have to have faith that the struggle is valuable and that I will find something that works, and that I will be able to stop and value that something and see whether it is part of the solution.
The Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage will be featuring my work in one of the two beautiful galleries on campus for a show in March 2015. I will be showing new paintings and hoping to find gallery representation in Anchorage. To that end I am working away at creating new work to show there. A complete bonus is that Constance Baltuck is showing her work in the other gallery in March as well! Art Buddies in Anchorage! Plus its the beginning of the Iditarod – Total Alaska Experience.
Learning to use my new WordPress format has been slow, but I will be working on more frequent updates of images and information.
Happy New Year to everyone!
